AUSTIN CASE - Upright Bass

Austin began in music as a 9 yr. old drummer who, by the age of 11, could be found either drumming to ‘50s music, or competing on the competition snare line with the Mesa Caledonian Pipe Band, frequently taking first place in solo competitions.  (He has been known to rock a pair of motorcycle boots or creepers with a kilt!)

Heavily influenced by the likes of none other than Bill Black (Elvis' own upright bass man), Austin eventually traded in his drums for an upright bass, giving the credit for his rhythmic slapping to the years he spent playing drums.

His amazingly physical performance – literally riding & standing on his bass – bring the visual as well as musical impact of ’56 to new heights.  As the youngest member of ’56, Austin is one heck of a Rockabilly cat!!!
